‘Tis Pity She’s A Whore (also known as The Brother and The Sister or Giovanni and Anabella) is a Jacobean play by John Ford detailing the inspired-by-life events of siblings Giovanni and Anabaella, reunited upon Gionvanni’s return from university and finding themselves embroiled in incestuous attraction which destroys the lives of many.
Textually, this is the most passionate I have ever been about a show, and I was captured by the intricacies of characterisation and the rehearsal room process, and I adored being involved in the process and asked for opinions by the actors and our director, who was very keen for me to be involved.
